First I’d like to say I’d love to own this lens . Especially for video but the Sigma 18-35 f/1.8 apsc helped me develop a “style” of my own. A look that became me .
From that I started purchasing primes in the 28-40mm using those on my FF cameras . Now I have too many big heavy f/1.4 – f/2.0 primes . For video I’ve purchased the Sony 16-35 f/4 pz . It’s ok . Then for Nikon Z I got the 24-120 f/4 . Love that lens .
I’d like to replace the Sony lens and this would be a good one to do that with. I find myself many times needing more than 35 mm and not needing the 16 mm so much . I have primes that cover most of these focal lengths but I can lighten my bag with the right zooms for the job . I am a big fanboy of Sigma the company and have many of their lenses. Sigma is usually clinical but with a unique rendering all their own .

Yeah…all the goodies f1.8. Do you know that if you use different lens brand actually sometimes the focus does not track especially using Sony and Nikon. I was frustrated when using in an important event. Also the lens weight is about 1 kg maybe too heavy for some. I would better choose 24mm f2.8 or 35 mm f1.8 which are light and easy to carry. Especially travelling with a heavy lens are very troublesome. If fact most of the time we use 28mm or 45 mm and seldom use in between.
