05.11.2009 – LA VERGNE, TN – Ingram Digital, an Ingram content company focused on solutions for digital content management, distribution and promotion, has been selected by Sterling Publishing Co., Inc., to enable the publisher’s digital strategy. Ingram Digital will provide Sterling with digital asset management technology and tools for content discovery and sampling.
“Ingram Digital offers the expertise necessary to meet our business objectives and has the most robust set of tools available to help us execute our digital strategy,” said Kate Rados, Director, Digital Markets for Sterling.
Sterling, one of the world’s largest non-fiction publishers, will utilize Ingram Digital’s CoreSource® solution to manage content digitization and conversion into multiple formats, as well as the distribution of digital assets through a wide-reaching network of channels. In addition, Sterling is tapping Ingram Digital’s Retail Solutions for secure and efficient e-book fulfillment.
Ingram Digital will also be helping Sterling drive sales of front and backlist titles by enabling online content discovery and sampling. Sterling will use Ingram Digital’s Browse and Buy widget, a tool that enables publishers to enable customers to view and search the text of a book much like they would in a bookstore. The widget can also be used as a promotional tool, leveraging a variety of Internet sites including social networks to organically build awareness of their products and generate online sales.
“Sterling is a leading example of how publishers can take advantage of revenue opportunities in the digital marketplace,” said Tyler Ruse, vice president and general manager of Ingram Digital Publisher Solutions. “Ingram continues to invest in the technology to enable digital strategies, allowing publishers to focus on their core business, creating valuable content for their readers.”
