This article has omitted any mention of the Dolby Vision 8.4 metadata in HDR video recorded on iPhone. In theory, reading the files as HLG should work, but in practice they look awful without the Dolby Vision metadata being read, so even if the image is color managed from HLG it won’t display as intended since Premiere doesn’t read the Dolby Vision metadata. Presently, the only video post production applications that read Dolby Vision metadata are FCP and Compressor. Best to use those apps if doing any post on iPhone HDR files.
