The new lineup from Wooden Camera gives filmmakers a modular foundation for building the camera around their individual production needs.
Designed to complement the Sony FX5’s form factor, the new cage and accessories from Wooden Camera provide expanded mounting, lens adaptation, power management, and fast support transitions—including solutions for handheld, cinema, and gimbal workflows.
At the center of the ecosystem is a modular cage system, Wooden Camera says, “designed to give operators the flexibility to configure their Sony FX5 without locking them into a single camera build. The low-profile cage incorporates a modular dovetail, allowing users to move between bridge plates and gimbals without tools, while maintaining a small footprint for handheld and mobile setups.”
For gimbal workflows, the lineup includes the 13mm Bolt-On ARCA – DJI RS Quick-Release Plate, providing a fast and secure way to make transitions. The low-profile design bolts directly to the camera cage and integrates with DJI RS-series gimbal systems, giving operators a quick solution for moving between handheld, gimbal, and other support setups without rebuilding the camera.
The system also introduces expanded lens and accessory support for professional cinema workflows. Wooden Camera’s E-mount to PL and E-mount to LPL adapters allow Sony FX5 users to integrate PL and LPL cinema lenses, while dedicated lens support provides additional stability for larger lens configurations across gimbal and cinema setups.
Flexible power options further expand the Sony FX5 platform. Wooden Camera’s battery slide solutions support both Gold Mount and V-Mount options, providing extended runtime while maintaining a streamlined camera build. Adjustable mounting allows operators to position the battery around their specific lens, monitoring, and wireless solutions.
For users looking to scale their setup, the modular cage design supports configurations ranging from a lightweight half-cage to a fully built cinema rig with the Wooden Camera Elite Cage System. Additional mounting options provide space for monitors, wireless systems, articulating arms, lens motors, and other production accessories.
“The Sony FX5 gives filmmakers an incredibly capable cinema camera in a compact package,” said Dominick Aiello, Divisional Senior Director of Accessories. “Our goal was to build an accessory ecosystem that preserves that mobility while giving professionals the flexibility to configure the camera for the way they actually work.”
Built using aircraft-grade 6061 aluminum and Type III hard anodization, the Sony FX5 accessories are designed to withstand the demands of professional production while providing a cohesive foundation for evolving camera configurations.
