The new BackLight 26L photo daypack from MindShift Gear offer nine liters of daypack capacity in a backpack offering a back panel opening for quick gear access, especially when taking the pack off is not an option.
Backpacks are superior for carrying heavy gear for long distances, but access has always been a problem. Also, traditional front-loading backpacks get wet and dirty when placed on the ground. The BackLight 26L, with a rear-panel compartment for photo gear, allows you to access your gear without taking off the backpack. You can change lenses or just snap a quick photo by simply spinning the bag to the front of your body while the waist belt is still secured.
Rear-panel access, similar to the one used in rotation180° Professional, also adds security when traveling since your camera gear is protected behind your back. The zippered rear opening reduces the amount of dust, mud, ice or other elements coming in contact with gear or the pack while keeping the shoulder harness clean.
Providing plenty of space for personal gear, including separate dedicated compartments for a 10” tablet and 15” laptop, the BackLight 26L is a different proposition from previous backpacks from MindShift Gear on their Rotation series, but is an option photographers looking for a photo day pack should investigate.
“The BackLight was designed to address the needs of traveling outdoor photographers,” said Doug Murdoch, MindShift Gear’s CEO and Lead Designer. “It holds a standard-size DSLR and four to six standard zoom lenses plus a flash, or two large mirrorless cameras and five to seven lenses plus a flash.”
Available in two colours, Charcoal and Greenfield, the new BackLight 26L photo daypack is compatible with MindShift’s Tripod Suspension Kit, Filter Nest, Filter Hive and Switch Case, includes tripod and or monopod mounting system on front or side, padded waist belt for all day comfort on the trail with webbing rail for attachment of additional MindShift accessories mentioned above.
It also offers quick fit waist belt adjustment for rapid and convenient fitting, adjustable neck strap keeps the back panel against your chest providing unencumbered access to your gear, integrated insert with customizable dividers allows you to maximize the space for photo gear, personal gear, or a combination of the two, and 2 large water bottle pockets with cinch cord fit a 32 oz. Nalgene, and many other features you expect to find on a backpack of this type.
