Choosing between the STORM 1000c and the STORM 1200x is easier now, as Aputure announces both STORM lights share the same price.

The STORM 1000c, a 1,000W tunable color point source lamp with ProLock Bowens Mount costed, until today, $3,990, while the STORM 1200x, a 1,200W tunable white high fidelity point source lamp with ProLock Bowens Mount was – and is – available for $2,990. Now, buying any of them costs the same: $2,990.

“Both of these STORM lights are excellent tools,” explains Mitch Gross, Aputure’s Global Director of Marketing. “The STORM 1000c has a huge range of saturated colors with precise tuning to get exactly what you need. The STORM 1200x offers great tunable white light with huge brightness, really great lumens per watt. Now it’s about choosing the tool that’s best for your needs, not buying based on price.”

The STORM 1000c’s BLAIR-CG light engine excels at casting hues never before seen on an LED lamp (90% of Rec. 2020) with high color accuracy. Meanwhile, the STORM 1200x’s BLAIR light engine emphasizes high-quality white light with extra punch, more than 22,000 lux at 3 meters with the included 45° reflector.

Both the BLAIR and BLAIR-CG light engines use indigo LED emitters to mimic the fluorescing quality of natural daylight and tungsten. The fixtures also share the STORM family’s enhanced connectivity options, low-end dimming capability, ProLock Locking Bowens mount, rugged build, and IP65 weather resistance.
