The Vitec Videocom Expo will take place at the Sony Digital Motion Picture Center (DMPC), November 16, from 11am until 6pm. It’s completely free but pre-registration is required to allow access to the Sony Pictures lot. So, if you want to go, remember to register.
The event represents a chance to see some of the latest products from the Vitec Videocom group, such as the Sachtler FSB10, the new Teradek Bolt Series, OConnor 2560, Litepanels ASTRA Soft, Anton/Bauer CINE and Digital batteries, and much more. The first West Coast showing of the Vantage, Vitec’s new compact robotic head that received rave reviews at IBC 2016 is another reason to dedicate the day to the Vitec Videocom Expo.
Besides creating conditions to meet with other industry professionals in a relaxed atmosphere, the event offers the chance to learn from in-depth presentations by people as Jody Eldred, Mark Hayes or Pat Grosswendt and many more.
The first session, at 12:00pm, under the title “Working Faster for Greater Creativity” has Emmy Award-Winning Director of Photography Jody Eldred demonstrating some of his tips that save valuable time on set, giving him more time to be creative. At 4.00pm participants can hear how Director Mark Hayes balanced the budgeting, the gear and production values for a 3-year long documentary project.
Vitec Videocom’s resident technologist Gary Adcock and his guest will take the stage at 5.00pm to discuss the tools and technologies in filmmaking’s constantly evolving future. The title of the presentation could not be better: “4K, 8K, HDR and the Evolution of Production”.
Throughout the day Litepanels co-founder and renowned lighting expert Pat Grosswendt will be demonstrating a myriad of lighting effects that can be achieved with even the most basic of setups. The title says it all: “Quick Tips for Dramatic Lighting”.
As a final note to the Vitec Videocom Expo it should be mentioned that a Grand Prize gear bundle worth over $5000.00 will be waiting for a winner. Could be the cherry on top of your cake!
