I recently created an online Glossary. It’s officially called Glosario de Editorial TecnoTur. The Glossary is completely free and open to the general public at Glosariocastellano.com (not restricted to TecnoTur clients) and it’s associated with the Castilian-language version of my TecnoTur Publishing division. I created the Glossary using one of the more popular WordPress plugins for this purpose. Unlike typical blog posts —which are nearly always displayed in reverse chronological order, with the newest entries at the top, glossary posts are not presented chronologically, but alphabetically. Other than that, the glossary entries have all the freedom of a standard blog post, including rich text (i.e. bold, italics, underlining), lists (numbered and unnumbered) human links as well as potential images, embedded audio and/or video. By default, dates are not publicly displayed within glossary entries, although that can be added, if desired. The official plugin name is simply Glossary and it’s from Codeat in Italy. As of publication time of this article, the plugin is rated 4.7 out of 5 stars and has 2,000+ installations. Fortunately, the plugin has been updated within the past two weeks, is simple to use and has more features than I really needed. It is very well documented and the plugin developer has been very responsive answering the very few questions I asked. Ahead, I’ll cover the reasons why I created the Glosario de Editorial TecnoTur and how I celebrated it on CapicúaFM.
Main reasons for creating the Glossary
Primarily, I created the Glossary to save time. Our author-clients can now use the Glossary as a guide while writing their books to avoid common issues. It is also convenient and efficient to know before we begin the manuscript editing stage of our book publication services (which include editing, layout, cover design, audiobook development and distribution guidance) whether the particular writer accepts all of our suggestions included in the Glossary or wants to make any particular exception(s), at her/his own discretion. Over the past 22 months, all of our writers except one have accepted our suggestion to use «guillemets», aka «angle quotation marks», including with books published in English and Italian, in addition to those we have published in Castilian. Simple and direct access to «guillemets» are one of the features in the new layout I created for the Spanish ISO keyboard for Mac, covered in this article. There is already direct access to «guillemets» in ChromeOS (Chromebook) and Linux.
Of course, since I follow good SEO (search engine optimization) practices, the secondary reason for making the Glossary is already working: People who are searching (on popular search engines like Google) for many of the glossary terms I included now end up discovering both the Glossary and our editorial services, as well as my personal specialty as an author and language activist.

Celebration of the Glossary in CapicúaFM
We recently celebrated the new Glosario de Editorial TecnoTur in the most recent CapicúaFM episode called Celebremos el Glosario de Editorial TecnoTur. In this episode, renowned Spaniard linguist, singer, voiceover talent María Esnoz and I discussed many of the terms listed in the Glossary and even audibly conjugated the verb podifundir which I had coined during the aughties, during the birth of podcasting. In mid process of audibly conjugating the verb, the character covered in this recent article «surprised us» in the studio.
Conclusions
I am very glad I decided to create the Glossary covered in this article, Glosario de Editorial TecnoTur. I am also very happy with the results (both on the website and in Google search results) and responses I have received from the Glossary plugin from Codeat in Italy. It must be noted that the good SEO results come from much more than simply using this Glossary plugin. That’s a combination of several factors.
