With the free firmware now released by Atomos for Atomos Shinobi II and Shinobi 7 RX more camera models are now supported by the company’s industry-leading monitors.
The inclusion of a USB-C interface in all of Atomos’ next-generation monitors and monitor-recorders means that filmmakers and content creators can control key camera functions like ISO, shutter, aperture, and white balance directly from their Shinobi monitor, massively improving workflow efficiency.
Atomos notes that support is continually expanding through firmware updates, and in most cases, your camera should work with the Camera Control feature if it supports tethered shooting over USB-C and is running the latest firmware.
This update also brings the Shinobi range in line with the camera control compatibility found in Atomos’ new, next-generation Ninja monitor-recorders that include Ninja RAW, Ninja TX GO, and Ninja TX.
Newly supported camera models:
- Canon: EOS R5; EOS R6; EOS R6 Mark III
- Fujifilm: GFX100S II; GFX100RF
- Nikon: ZR; Z7 II (stills mode only)
- Panasonic: DC-GH7; DC-S1RM2; DC-S1M2; DC-S1M2ES; DC-S1H
- Sony: ILME-FX2; ILME-FX3A; ILCE-7M5 (A7 V)
The firmware is available now as a free download from the Atomos website and reinforces the video innovator’s commitment to delivering powerful, user-focused tools that enhance creative control and increase the speed of production. Follow the link for a complete list of cameras supported.
