Beeble’s SwitchX brings controllable generative video to the VFX workflow with one goal in mind: switch anything except what matters, so you stay grounded in your original performance.
Founded in 2022 by five AI researchers with backgrounds in game development, Beeble is a deep-tech company focused on production-grade relighting and physically grounded video tools for the media industry. The latest tool added to its range of solutions is SwitchX, a new generative video system built for professional production environments. It allows artists to change the lighting, background, props, costumes, and on-screen world of a video, while keeping the subject consistent, recognizable, and intact.
For filmmakers, creators, and VFX artists, changing the environment or lighting of a shot after it’s been filmed has always been a complex, time-consuming challenge. Generative AI promised a solution, but traditional models often hallucinate, morphing the subject and losing the original performance.
According to Beeble, SwitchX changes that. Guided directly by your source footage at the pixel level, SwitchX lets you modify lighting, backgrounds, props, and more, all while keeping your original subject completely intact. It ensures consistent identity, preserved details, and highly controllable results that stay grounded in your original performance.
SwitchX enables artists to transform lighting, environments, and visual context while preserving the original subject’s consistency and recognizability. It delivers production-ready 2K output in minutes, expanding what’s possible in post and production without the need for reshoots.
Built with post teams in mind, SwitchX integrates into existing workflows and maintains frame-level consistency across edits. Artists can, the company claims, “reshape lighting and environments without introducing flicker, drift, or continuity issues, making it viable for real client delivery.” Unlike many generative video tools that introduce drift and inconsistency, SwitchX was built around controllability. The core idea is simple: switch anything except what matters.
With SwitchX, artists can:
- Transport a subject into a completely new environment for a music video or campaign.
- Turn an everyday room into a professional podcast or studio setup.
- Dramatically relight a scene to shift mood, time of day, or genre.
- Modify props, costumes, or set elements with physically correct light interaction.
How it works
Users upload a video or image to the Beeble cloud app. SwitchX automatically detects the main subject, with an interactive masking tool available for precise control. Next, they add a reference image to visually define the desired scene, including lighting, background, and props. Finally, generate. SwitchX analyzes the original footage frame by frame and pixel by pixel, using that data to strictly guide the generation process and ensure consistency.
In just 5 minutes, SwitchX can produce a crisp 2K video with new lighting, background, shadows, and camera perspective, while preserving key details such as identity, facial characteristics, and audio sync.
“The core idea is simple: switch anything except what matters,” said Hoon Kim, Founder and CEO of Beeble. “In any production, controllability and production-ready quality are everything; that’s why SwitchX is a massive breakthrough in video generation AI, and a definitive step toward the future of content creation.”
