Sony announced the launch of an integration plugin that enables the use of high-quality 3DCG assets generated by Sony’s XYN technology within Disguise environments for virtual production.

Sony Electronics’ XYN’s spatial capture solution, which creates high-quality 3DCG (3D Computer Graphics) assets, is expected to be available to professional customers in the United States starting summer 2026, according to the company .

The spatial capture solution supports capturing, generating, and utilizing 3DCG assets optimized for virtual production in film, drama, and commercial production. According to Sony, it enables the efficient use of production-quality photorealistic 3DCG assets designed for use with large LED walls and real-time rendering environments in virtual production.

The first release of this solution comprises three software tools:

• XYN Spatial Scan Navi
  The smartphone application to assist with shooting spatial content
• XYN Spatial Scan
  The cloud application for generating real-world spaces as high-quality 3DCG assets

• XYN Spatial Renderer Plugin
  The rendering plugin for achieving high-quality, stable image display.

At the same time Sony announced the launch of an integration plugin that enables the use of high-quality 3DCG assets generated by Sony’s XYN technology within Disguise environments for virtual production. This initiative integrates XYN Spatial capture solution into production workflows centered on Disguise, supporting improved efficiency and enhanced expressive capabilities in in-camera VFX production utilizing LED walls benefiting filmmakers globally.

Disguise offers a fully integrated end-to-end virtual production system for pixel-perfect results across film, TV, commercials and more, supporting 400+ global stages. The company has achieved stable video operation on large-scale LED stages by centrally controlling multiple media servers and synchronizing camera tracking and rendering output with high precision.

In recent years, as demand for virtual production has expanded, the importance of converting physical spaces into high-quality digital assets—and establishing environments where they can be immediately utilized on set—has grown significantly.
With the release of this integration plugin, high-quality 3DCG assets generated by XYN can now be seamlessly integrated into Disguise environments.
