Sony ATOM X SSDminis Made For Atomos Recorders

500GB, 1TB, and 2TB options in a SSD 20% smaller than conventional SSDs

Sony has introduced three new professional Atom X SSDmini products designed for use in ATOMOS recorders like the Sumo 19 inch monitor/recorder and Ninja V 5″ 4K HDR Monitor/Recorder. The three Atom x SSDminis come in at 500 GB, 1TB, and 2TB for those 4K shoots where a large amount of media is necessary.

Pricing? Not too bad I think. The Sony Atom X SSDmini 500 GB comes in at $199.00, the 1TB Atom X SSDmini lands at $379.00, and the biggest option, the 2TB, Atom X SSDmini is priced at $759.00. As I write this, all three are available and in stock on B&H Photo.

As film makers’ production use of DSLR and mirrorless cameras increase, the new ATOM X SSDmini can easily attach to the Atomos line of products which helps to eliminate the cameras internal compression and time limits. Hell, even with a camera capable of recording high-quality codecs in camera but only raw externally the ATOM X SSDmini and Atomos recorder option is a good one for those 12-bit raw files some desire on their Sony FS5 Mark II or Panasonic EVA1 shoot. The ATOM X SSDmini snaps off the back and the content is edit-ready, stored securely on the SSD drive!
