ProMAX is joining the NewTek Developer Network by providing ProMAX Platform series shared storage solutions, a first for NewTek’s TriCaster™ and 3Play™ multi-camera production and instant replay systems. ProMAX’s Platform integration meets the demanding performance criteria needed to support the variations of branded program output, multi-channel delivery with simultaneous streaming, and live social media publishing that NewTek’s advanced media production content publishing systems provide.
“ProMAX Platform storage systems outperformed expectations, and fit the TriCaster and 3Play workflow by providing robust and easy to use shared storage at a cost effective price,” said Michael Kornet, executive vice president of Business Development for NewTek. “This is valuable new functionality, as the lines between pre-, live- and post-production continue to blur with our customers.”
The combination of NewTek TriCaster and 3Play devices with a Shared Storage system like ProMAX Platform allows for virtually unlimited content recording time for NewTek customers. In addition, the ability to record many streams simultaneously to the Platform Server at the same time playing content from that server, open up media sharing and collaboration features that were previously not possible.
“It’s a great fit. NewTek recognized the media performance power and management capabilities that are central to Platform’s design. Platform is purpose-built to scale to a wide array of video and media functions; the increased workflow opportunities with these combined solutions are almost limitless,” noted ProMAX CEO, Jess Hartmann.
With 20 years’ experience serving as a leading VAR to the video post-production industry, ProMAX has transitioned to exclusively manufacturing multi-functional video shared storage solutions and high-performance editing workstations. Since ProMAX launched the Platform shared storage server in Q4 2012, it has become the most eagerly adopted new product of its kind by video companies of all sizes.
ProMAX changed what video and media professionals expect from shared storage by introducing Platform’s unique multi-functional modules. In addition to powering demanding workflow functions such as transcoding, asset management and archive Platform gained further industry attention by delivering superior video performance and intuitive data management capabilities. The recently announced New Platform Series models significantly increase the servers’ scalability, adding multi-location features and functions extending from 8 terabytes to 25 petabytes; firmly positioning Platform servers as an Enterprise class solution.
