At NAB 2017 Fujinon showed off their Cine style zoom lens the MK 18-55 T2.9 not only in the Sony E-mount but also a Fuji X-mount.
FUJINON MK 18-55 T2.9 WITH FUJI X-MOUNT
While Fuji may not a video camera they did release firmware updates to their still cameras enabling video features. The Fuji XT-2 has a 4K video recording option. The XT-2 could be a great “B” or “C” camera to go alongside a Sony FS5 or FS7. The Fujinon MK 18-55 T2.9 X-mount is identical to the E-mount version. Both feature a T2.9 aperture through the zoom range, back focus adjustments and a macro button.
FUJINON MK 18-55 T2.9 PRICE AND AVAILABILITY
Fujinon intends to release the lens later this year, and though they’re not willing to commit to an exact price, it sounds like you shouldn’t expect to may much (if any) more than the Sony version.
The Fujinon MK Cine Style Zooms
These lenses are lightweight with a compact build. The “MK” lenses are designed from the ground up with the operator in mind. With the need for only one matte box and one filter size between the 18-55 and 50-135 lenses. These lenses follow broadcasting style lenses by including a macro function allowing for a broader range of close-up shooting, and gears for the three rings are positioned in the exact same place, which eliminates the need to re-position accessories when switching lenses.
