Combining premium 4K60 image quality with a first-of-its-kind Auto Lighting feature, the amaran Cam is now available, with a price of $249.

The amaran Cam, is the first webcam designed to go beyond simply capturing an image to help creators get camera-ready. Combining premium 4K60 image quality with a first-of-its-kind Auto Lighting feature, the amaran Cam uses what the camera sees to adjust connected amaran lights, helping creators achieve a polished on-camera look without the guesswork of balancing camera and lighting settings.

For content creators and livestreamers, getting their on-camera setup right is easier with the amaran Cam, whether livestreaming, demonstrating products, joining video calls, or creating everyday content.

For creators, looking good on camera often involves more than choosing the right webcam. Even with a great camera, achieving a flattering image can mean repeatedly adjusting camera and lighting settings, checking the preview, and fine-tuning lights until everything looks right – a process that takes time away from creating. While conventional webcams can adapt to existing lighting conditions, they cannot change the lighting in the scene itself.

The amaran Cam, the company claims, “changes that with Auto Lighting. By bringing the webcam and compatible amaran lights together through the amaran Desktop App, Auto Lighting analyzes the exposure on the creator’s face and automatically adjusts connected lights for a camera-ready result in just 10 seconds. From first-time creators learning to light themselves to experienced livestreamers looking to streamline their workflow, the feature helps take one more manual task out of the creative process.”

“Lighting is where amaran started, but our goal has always been to make creating easier. As we’ve expanded into tools that support more of the creative process, we’ve focused on how they can work together as part of a more connected ecosystem, rather than simply operating alongside one another,” said Tiffany Cheng, Global Product Marketing Manager at amaran. “The amaran Cam marks an important step toward that vision by introducing visual feedback, connecting what creators see on camera with the lights that shape their environment. Auto Lighting is the first example of what’s possible as we bring lighting, audio, imaging, and software together, allowing creators’ setups to start doing more of the thinking for them.”

Beyond Auto Lighting, the amaran Cam pairs 4K capture at up to 60fps with a large 1/1.3” sensor and wide f/1.68 aperture, bringing premium imaging performance to a desktop webcam. Together, these features keep fine details clear and movement smooth, while delivering cleaner low-light images and natural background separation for a polished, dimensional look. Equally important is how those details appear on screen. Tuned across a range of skin tones, the amaran Cam helps creators look natural and balanced, while delivering reliable color straight from the camera to keep makeup, clothing, and products closer to how they appear in real life, giving creators greater confidence in what their audience sees.

Designed for everything from everyday desk setups to more advanced livestream productions, the amaran Cam gives creators greater flexibility and creative control across their workflows. Additional features include:

• Customizable Auto Lighting: Auto Lighting tailors the lighting to the creator’s face, providing a camera-ready starting point they can fine-tune to their preference. For two-light setups, creators can choose from three lighting looks: Even for clean, balanced lighting; Defined for added shape and depth; or Bold for stronger contrast and mood. At launch, Auto Lighting supports up to two compatible amaran lights, with plans to expand support for more complex multi-light setups through future software updates.
• 2× Lossless Zoom in 4K & Fast Autofocus: The amaran Cam lets creators continuously adjust from wider framing to tighter close-ups with 2× lossless zoom while maintaining full 4K resolution, highlighting finer details without sacrificing image clarity. Fast autofocus locks onto subjects in under 1/4 second with reduced focus hunting, helping keep faces and products clear as attention shifts.
• Multi-Cam & Native Vertical Video: Connect up to four amaran Cams for greater coverage across multiple angles, from a main view to overhead product shots, with quick switching between views. For vertical content, simply rotate the webcam to automatically switch to native 9:16 output at up to 4K60, without cropping or sacrificing image quality.
• Software Compatibility & Creative Controls: The amaran Cam works with major streaming, recording, and video conferencing platforms, including OBS Studio, Streamlabs, Twitch, Zoom, Teams, and more. Through the amaran Desktop App, creators can expand what’s possible with centralized control over camera settings and connected amaran lighting and audio, plus advanced creative features like Green Screen, Beauty, and Filters in Virtual Camera mode.
• Reliable Performance for Long Sessions: Built for extended creative sessions, the amaran Cam features active cooling that supports at least 72 hours of continuous operation at 4K60, delivering stable performance for long livestreams and recording sessions.

The amaran Cam is now available for purchase from local authorized dealers or directly through amaran’s official online stores, priced at $249.
