AJA Cion Gets A Huge Price Cut

From now until the “end of summer” the AJA Cion is $4,995.  That’s a whopping $4,000 dollars off the original price.  From my perspective, as someone who’s in the middle of a review of the Cion, $4,995 is a much more appropriate price for this camera.  But… the camera is not the only piece of gear on sale.

Today, May 26th 2015, AJA reduced prices on the Ki Pro Quad, Ki Pro Mini, and Ki Pro recorders.  On top of those savings if you purchased the Cion camera before May 26th, 2015 you can receive 2 AJA Pak 512 SSDs for free.  That’s a $2,495.00 value.  You’ll need to submit your request for the two free 512 SSDs to

722 Try CION 1x From AJA’s website: “CION already offers so much in terms of cinematic image quality, functionality, workflow flexibility, and with this new lower price we’re completely removing the barrier to entry for so many in the indie and commercial filmmaking market,” said Nick Rashby, President, AJA Video Systems. “Our Ki Pro products were the first to deliver hardware ProRes recording in a portable device, and this price promotion is designed to get this proven performance into even more customer’s hands.”

Promo Prices:

  • CION = $4,995
  • Ki Pro Quad = $2,995
  • Ki Pro Mini = $1,495
  • Ki Pro = $2,495

As I work on my review of the AJA Cion, I am glad to hear AJA has reduced the price of Cion. I believe this better places the camera in the market.  When the camera was priced at $8,995 it cost more the the Sony FS7 and Screen Shot 2015 05 26 at 5.05.47 PM Blackmagic URSA 4.6K without many features placing it ahead of these two cameras.  So good news and I hope AJA has success with this sale.  If you’re looking into this camera system… Today is the day.
