After a few packed days walking the halls of IBC 2026, we saw everything from major advances in broadcast infrastructure to filmmaking tools small enough to fit in your pocket. The products that impressed us most weren’t simply chasing bigger numbers, they solved real problems for filmmakers, editors, and production teams.

These are ProVideo Coalition’s five Best in Show winners from IBC 2026.

Best Workflow Breakthrough (Tie): OWC Thunderbolt 5 Dock with Dual HDMI

A great dock should be the least exciting part of your workflow: plug it in, connect everything, and forget about it. That’s exactly what OWC is aiming for with its new Thunderbolt 5 Dock with Dual HDMI.

Two dedicated HDMI 2.1 ports can support dual 8K displays at 60Hz on compatible Thunderbolt 5 computers, while a third display can connect through Thunderbolt. More importantly for editors, those monitors don’t have to consume the bandwidth needed by high-speed storage.

The dock also includes front-facing Thunderbolt 5, USB-C, USB-A, SD and microSD card readers, additional downstream Thunderbolt ports, 2.5Gb Ethernet, and up to 140 watts of laptop charging. Everything runs through one connection to your computer.

Its weighted, fanless enclosure can sit horizontally or vertically and is designed to remain cool without adding noise or another potential failure point. It’s a practical product that takes full advantage of what Thunderbolt 5 can actually do.

Best Workflow Breakthrough (Tie): AJA FS8

The AJA FS8 might be the most technically dense product we saw at IBC, and somehow, AJA fit everything inside a single rack unit.

The FS8 provides four channels of Ultra HD or eight channels of HD frame synchronization, conversion, and color processing. It can bridge traditional 12G-SDI infrastructure with SMPTE ST 2110 IP workflows, offering up to 50 gigabits of IP throughput.

Its 459-by-448 audio matrix can route between SDI-embedded audio, ST 2110-30, Dante, and MADI, with sample-rate conversion available across every channel. AJA also included four 4K region-of-interest scalers and an extensive collection of network-diagnostic tools.

The transition from SDI to IP can be intimidating, even for experienced broadcast teams. By combining conversion, processing, audio routing, HDR tools, and troubleshooting inside one approachable system, the FS8 earns its place as our second Best Workflow Breakthrough winner.

Best Value Innovation: Atomos Shinobi 7 II

At $499 before tax, the Atomos Shinobi 7 II delivers an impressive set of professional monitoring features.

Its seven-inch, 1920-by-1200 touchscreen reaches 2,800 nits, making it usable outdoors in direct sunlight. It includes HDMI input and output, compatible camera control, touch focus, waveform monitoring, focus peaking, 3D LUT support, and EL Zone false color.

It also supports calibration directly on the device without requiring a computer. Power options include USB-C, NP-F batteries, or DC through a battery eliminator.

There are less expensive camera monitors, but the Shinobi 7 II offers a compelling balance of brightness, dependable monitoring tools, camera integration, and portability. For filmmakers who need a professional daylight-viewable monitor without moving into a much higher price bracket, it represents a strong value.

Greatest Innovation: Creamsource C3

The Creamsource C3 is one of those fixtures that immediately stops you on a trade-show floor.

It’s a 3,000-watt, full-color LED Fresnel with a motorized beam that moves from an 18-degree spot to a 60-degree flood. At full spot, Creamsource rates it at 10,000 lux from ten meters.

Its newly developed seven-color BCGLARD engine covers more than 92 percent of Rec. 2020, with typical CRI and TLCI ratings of 98. The C3 can create deeply saturated colors while still functioning like a traditional Fresnel, producing a controllable beam, clean roll-off, and defined shadows.

The ballast is integrated into the IP65-rated housing, while the surrounding cage makes the 45-kilogram fixture easier to carry, mount, and combine into larger arrays. Focus can be controlled manually or remotely through DMX.

The C3 brings together the output and optical control of a massive Fresnel with the color capabilities of a modern LED effects fixture. It’s ambitious, unusual, and exactly the kind of product we hope to discover at IBC.

Grand Prize: DJI Osmo Pocket 4P

Our Grand Prize goes to the DJI Osmo Pocket 4P, a camera that packs a surprising amount of cinema-grade imaging into a genuinely pocketable form.

The biggest physical upgrade is the addition of two prime lenses: a 20mm-equivalent wide camera and a 60mm-equivalent telephoto. This gives filmmakers two meaningfully different perspectives without relying entirely on digital zoom or carrying another camera.

The wide camera supports D-Log 2 and a claimed 17 stops of dynamic range, making it much easier to integrate Pocket 4P footage into a professional color workflow. Magnetic ND filters, customizable controls, mechanical stabilization, and intelligent tracking add even more flexibility.

Tracking is no longer limited to human faces. The Pocket 4P can lock onto animals, vehicles, products, or other objects, opening up new options for tabletop work, solo filmmaking, and complicated moving shots.

The Pocket 4P doesn’t replace a cinema camera. Instead, it unlocks shots that would otherwise require a much larger camera build, stabilizer, and crew. That creative potential made it our favorite product of the show.

The hardest part of putting together this list was narrowing it down. We saw an incredible number of innovative products across the IBC show floor, many of which could have easily earned a spot among our winners. From major broadcast systems to small tools designed for individual creators, nearly every booth offered a new way to make production faster, simpler, or more creative. These five products ultimately stood out to us, but they represent only a small sample of the exciting technology we encountered at IBC 2026.
