Color Correction Filters in Motion

Color Correction Filters in Motion 1

This week on MacBreak Studio, I show Steve Martin from Ripple Training how I use color correction filters in Motion.

If you want to change the color or luminance of a video, photograph, or graphic in Motion, you have a lot of options. In fact, in the Filters section of Motion's Library, the Color Correction category alone contains 17 different filters to choose from. Which one(s) should you use?

Well, you can use anything you like, in any combination you like, but in this week's episode I demonstrate the color correction filters I go to most often to perform common color and luminance adjustment tasks, such as removing color, changing the hues of an image while leaving the blacks and whites intact, and turning a graphic into a solid color. Along the way, we explore the HSV filter, Levels, Colorize, and more – and look at ways to combine them. We also look at how the order of filters applied to layers can dramatically change the end result.
