Austin Shimek was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. When asked how long he has been taking photos, his answer is simple “I've always had a camera in my hand.” From filming with a family camcorder at eight years old to working with professional cameras today, photography has always been part of his life.
Austin is driven by a passion for capturing timeless moments wherever they happen. His specialty in motorsports photography comes from providing trackside media coverage with Gridlife, SRO World Challenge, and the American Rally Association. Whether he is trackside, in the studio, or anywhere out in the world he is rarely found without a camera close at hand.
