Prime Day is over. Some of these items might still be for sale on some way.
We all know that SSD and hard drive prices have gone through the roof. In years past, Amazon Prime Day has had some good SSD deals, and since we’re just into Amazon’s June 2026 Prime Day, I thought I would take a quick look and see if there are any SSD deals to be had. I’m going to compare these to SSD prices I saw in March when I posted How much have those SSD drives increased in price?
What that search, here’s what I get as of early Tuesday morning, June 23.
This 1 TB SANDISK SSD is a bit less than the 1 TBs I looked at in March which were about $50 – $80 more in March. This is the 800/MBs variation as the 1TB SANDISK Extreme Pro that can run up to 2000 MB/s if your machine can support it, is $178.
Samsung T9s are a favorite of post and this T7 1 TB version was running $185 in March so that’s not a bad deal.
And for a 2 TB SSD?
Priced at $221 this is just slightly less than the SANDISK 2 TBs at $284 in March, but that price was for a slightly faster model. I’m a bit unsure of all these different SANDISK models as tis looks like a newer one with the little ribbon.
But I know, 1 and 2 TBs are really too small for all the media being shot these days so what is the price of 4 TB models assuming they are part of Prime Day this time?
Things are limited when it comes to 4 TB.
When you do an Amazon search during Prime Day you can limit the results to Prime Day and these are the only two 4 TB models that return a result. I’d be curious if you get anything different so please comment below if you do.
I’ve never heard of or used the SSK brand but those prices aren’t bad. $357 for a 1050MB/s and then only $366 for 2000 MB/s if your system can support it, isn’t bad. In March the SANDISK 4TB Extreme Pro was sitting at $727.
I did see something interesting when I changed my search for “4 tb external ssd hard drive” to All Departments of Amazon.
Here’s an old 4TB SANDISK that can hit 1000MB/s for only $450. That’s a great deal considering the $700+ 4 TB SSDs were hitting, and that’s got great speed, especially since Macs can’t support the full 2000MB/s of the new Extreme SanDisks.
As a direct comparison, it looks like the current SANDISK 4TB Extreme PRO has come down just a bit since March, when it was over $700.
While not a Prime Day deal, this might be a good deal if you can get one before they run out of stock.
So that’s where I see things standing as of 8:00 AM CST on Amazon Prime Day, June 23rd. These prices and availability are subject to change as Prime Day rolls by, so YMMV.
