Zhiyun Fiveray M60 Ultra: a powerful light in a small package

Especially useful for solo creators and small teams who want a faster and simpler way to manage multi-light scenes, the new Zhiyun Fiveray M60 Ultra is available for $129.

Zhiyun  debuted at the 2026 NAB Show the new Fiveray M40 SE, announced last March, a high-power pocket light weighing only 250 g (bare unit), as light as a smartphone, that fits easily into your pocket, becoming your on-the-go lighting assistant so you never miss a brilliant moment. But the company has another model, the Zhiyun Fiveray M60 Ultra, introduced as a powerful light in a small package.

Weighing just 430 g and measuring 150 x 80 x 37.3 mm, the M60 Ultra is about the size of a postcard, making it easy to pack while still delivering powerful output. With peak illuminance up to 6490 lux at one meter, it offers the kind of output normally expected from larger lights.

According to the company, “the key upgrade in the M60 Ultra is its brightness and control. Each lamp bead features its own lens, helping concentrate the light for stronger output. Thanks to this innovative  design the LED delivers around six times the brightness of ordinary pocket lights. Used together with light-shaping accessories, the light can create both harder and softer looks, giving users more flexibility in different shooting situations.”

Even with its compact size, the M60 Ultra is built for more advanced workflows. It supports control through the ZY Vega app and also offers primary and secondary light modes, allowing one unit to control multiple lights in a linked setup. This makes it especially useful for solo creators and small teams who want a faster and simpler way to manage multi-light scenes.

The M60 Ultra also gives users a wide creative range. It supports full-color RGB lighting with control over hue, saturation and brightness, and offers a color temperature range from 2500K to 10000K. With CRI of 95 or higher and TLCI of 97 or higher, it is designed to deliver reliable color reproduction in both simple and more demanding lighting environments.

For longer sessions, the built-in 4500 mAh battery provides up to 160 minutes of runtime at 20 percent brightness, while full-power runtime reaches up to 30 minutes. The light also supports PD and QC fast charging and can be charged while in use with a 60W or higher power source, helping reduce interruptions during production. A large color display, dual-knob control and a 1/4-inch threaded mounting point are included to make operation fast and straightforward on set.

The standard kit includes the Fiveray M60 Ultra, a magnetic diffuser, a magnetic honeycomb grid and a 60W USB-C cable.
