The new filters from ShiftCam are not just another accessory, the company claims, but “cinema language for your phone”. ShiftCam recently released a 240mm Super Zoom Telephoto, the world’s first 240mm 10× periscope telephoto lens for iPhone, with true optical reach and compatible with the latest iPhone 17… and Android. The company is also behind the “World’s 1st Cinema-Grade Mobile Lens System” designed to expand the tools available for professionals to capture the world around them.
Compatible with iPhone, Android and Shiftcam’s LensUltra mobile lenses the filters offer an interesting versatility option for filmmakers. As they magnetically snap straight onto your phone, or onto your LensUltra mobile lenses with a dedicated magnetic ring, you can use the same filters independently of how you build your rig, as the same filters follow your shot.
ShiftCams’s cinema-grade filters reinvent a traditional tool with a clean, modern edge for mobile — giving you soft, precise control over light, blooming highlights and restoring nuance to every frame, so, the company says, “your images feel less like snapshots and more like scenes from a film.”
From soft, cinematic glow to crystal-clear skies and glass, this 72mm filter collection gives your phone, ShiftCam adds, “the same light control filmmakers expect from their cameras. One magnetic system, multiple looks—built for the way you actually shoot.”
VND Filter
The VND filter is your go-to for bright outdoor scenes, moving water, city streets and travel days under hard sun. Available in VND Soft (1–5 stops) and VND Hard (6–10 stops), it’s built for both photography and videography so you can dial in just the right amount of light control.
By cutting light without shifting color, it helps you keep smoother shutter speeds and more controlled exposure in-camera. The result is calmer, more cinematic shots where motion feels intentional, not accidental.
CPL Filter
CPL filter is made for landscapes, architecture, city reflections, cars, product shots and anything with glass or water. It shines in both photos and video whenever reflections and washed-out color get in the way.
By cutting glare and deepening saturation, it reveals details behind windows, on wet streets and across skies your phone would normally blow out.
Your images feel cleaner, richer and more immersive—like you’ve wiped a layer off the world.
Black Mist
Black Mist is for portraits, night streets, practical lights and any scene where pure digital sharpness feels too clinical. It’s used in both cinematography and photography to gently soften contrast and bloom highlights without turning everything into a blur.
Skin tones look more forgiving, light sources glow with a subtle halo and the whole frame takes on a more organic, filmic character.
The result is a moodier, more emotional image that feels like a scene from a story, not just another clip from your camera roll.
ShiftCam will share more information about the new filters on December 12, but this first introductory note reveals how the large diameter filters for smartphones will contribute to empower mobile cinematography.
