Developed jointly with Schneider-Kreuznach, the new AF 14-24mm F2.8 lens combines German optical expertise with Samyang’s advanced technology to deliver high image quality in a compact and practical design. The lens is previously available for the Sony E-mount, and Samyang plans to introduce, later, a L-mount version of the AF 24-60mm f/2.8 lens, which follows the same logic, as it was first launched for Sony E-mount cameras.
The AF 14-24mm F2.8 L is a versatile super-wide zoom lens for L-Mount users who want to pack smaller, carry lighter and capture more. With its 14–24mm focal range and constant F2.8 aperture, the lens is well suited to landscapes, cityscapes, architecture, interiors, night skies, travel photography and environmental portraits.
Covering an expansive angle of view from 114.2° to 84.1° on full-frame cameras, it gives photographers the freedom to capture dramatic perspectives while keeping the kit light. Samyang claims that photographers can “experience stunning edge-to-edge sharpness in a body that weighs only 441g. From dynamic urban street photography to breathtaking landscapes, capture the world in high definition without the bulk.”
A key advantage of the AF 14-24mm F2.8 L is its front filter compatibility. Unlike many conventional super-wide zoom lenses, it accepts 77mm front filters, allowing photographers to use polarising and ND filters for creative control in landscapes, long exposures, video production and outdoor work.
- 14–24mm ultra-wide zoom with constant F2.8 aperture
- Lightweight 441g design for easy travel
- Jointly developed with Schneider-Kreuznach
- 77mm front filter compatibility
- 0.18m close focus and fast Linear STM autofocus
The new Samyang AF 14-24mm F/2.8 L Mount lens is available now. Price for this version was not announced but the Sony E-mount version costs around $1,200.
