HDR preview mode for Flanders Scientific DM series monitors

flandersscientificdmmonitor001

The introduction of HDR preview modes in the DM series allows users to use the DM monitors they may be working with to monitor High Dynamic Range signals.

The DM family of monitors integrates three production environment workhorses for applications where color really matters. At the top of the list is the DM250, the most advanced monitor built by Flanders Scientific. The company says its specialized toolset is incredibly well suited for dynamic on set color management applications as well as the most demanding post production environments.

The other two models, the DM170 and DM240 are durable, lightweight, efficient, and color critical production monitors equipped with Flanders Scientific most advanced feature set and capabilities. Industry leading fast mode processing, a durable all metal chassis, and direct integration with today’s most powerful color management tools make both models production environment workhorse for applications where color really matters. The DM240 reference LCD monitor was one of the highlights from Flanders Scientific at IBC 2016.

Now, all three monitors from Flanders Scientific DM series feature three selectable HDR Preview modes. FSI CEO/GM Bram Desmet had this to say about these new capabilities: “Our aim with these new HDR monitoring modes was to allow users to leverage current technology for High Dynamic Range signal monitoring in production and quality control applications. While not intended for HDR mastering these modes do provide a simple and cost effective way to monitor PQ or HLG signals.”

Three monitoring modes are available:
