So far, I have covered two camera manufacturers which are guilty of Framerate Malpractice. They are GoPro and Sony (in part of its line). Later, I discovered that DJI is equally guilty, thanks to informant Ernesto Morales-Ramos, author of The Disciple. Now, my YouTube feed is starting to include situations where several different people have used AI to add missing features to their cameras via firmware updates (examples ahead). So now, the question is: Will AI mods fix Framerate Malpractice before the guilty manufacturers bother to do it themselves? I have not yet seen that specific fix done via a third-party hack, but it is likely just a question of time. Even before AI, we had the famous Magic Lantern firmware for various Canon models, and the Sony hack to make cameras become quasi-worldcam, as covered in my 2025 article: How to make many Sony cameras worldcams (NTSC+PAL derived rates) free of charge. Ahead are recent examples of AI modifications I’ve seen so far. The following appear in chronological order:

Please inform me
If you (or someone else) successfully makes a firmware modification to fix Framerate Malpractice, please inform me via this form including a link to the source. That way, we’ll all celebrate in in upcoming articles. Thanks in advance.
