Video LED light with wireless control

Phottix Video LED Light 720A

Lighting for video and photography became easier with the use of LED panels, and it is even easier with the introduction of wireless control for these lights. Being able to control the light emitted by LED lights  wirelessly makes complete sense and is something I asked for since trying the first LED panels, years ago.

From a photographer’s perspective, used to control flashes remotely, the transition to LED panels for indoor or even outdoor use was a step back, as the control of the light on these accessories had  – and in many cases still is – to be done on the panel itself. Things have changed, though, and some of the most recent panels offer convenient wireless control allowing dimming of individual lights or groups.

Phottix follows the trend and their new Video LED Light 720A includes a wireless radio remote which allows for remote power adjustments. The VLED 720A features 720 LEDs with an output of 4700 LM and a color temperature of 5500K. Two diffusers, frosted white and orange (changing the color temperature to approx. 3200K), barndoors and a hand grip are also included.

The VLED 720A features a digital display and is powered by two Sony-style NP-F batteries. A cooling fan ensures the VLED 720 stays at proper operating temperatures. Two ¼” x 20 mounting lugs (top and bottom) make the panel easy to mount.

Perfect for on-location video shooting and studio photography, the VLED 720A compact panel costs $220.00.
