April 6 and 7, right before NAB 2019 starts, Los Angeles is the place to be, if you want to participate in one of the 2019 Official Steadicam Workshops. Offered by The Tiffen Company through AbelCine, the workshops offer two levels of hands-on training – Bronze and Silver – the Steadicam multi-day workshops feature expert instructors teaching camera operators essential skills and proper technique, covering multiple sizes of Steadicam rigs.
“Steadicam is such a commonly used tool within the film and television industry, but it does require proper training and practice to use effectively,” said Andrew Tiffen, SVP of Marketing, The Tiffen Company. “Focusing on relevant and practical training, the Steadicam series of workshops have been designed to put the power of Steadicam in the hands of camera operators of varying levels of experience so they can successfully produce the creative footage desired by producers and directors.”
Bronze and Silver Workshops
The workshops are designed to fit the needs of different types of users within the Steadicam universe.The Steadicam Bronze Workshop is a unique opportunity for prospective operators to learn the use and application of Steadicam, concentrating on the lighter systems within the Steadicam product line. The Steadicam Silver Workshop is a unique opportunity for working camera operators to learn the use and application of Steadicam within the film and television world. Independently of the typs of workshop, the experience is always hands-on with plenty of practical time wearing and using the system.

By scheduling additional dates for Steadicam Bronze workshops throughout the year and adding the Steadicam Silver workshops to our repertoire, we’ll be able to offer the best training possible, regardless of an operator’s experience level.”
