Everyone knows GoPro and most everyone owns a GoPro or two so no need to dwell on what GoPro is all about. They didn’t have anything new at the show so I took the time to talk with one of their software engineers about GoPro Studio, camera settings for post-production and their post-production technology.
I spoke with Craig and he was one of the original creators behind Cineform, the original intermediate codec that was around before DNxHD and ProRes. GoPro acquired Cineform a few years ago and they technology is the base of GoPro Studio. Craig shows us around a bit and answers a few questions about Cineform. He also discusses some of the advantages of using GoPro Studio to process your GoPro footage. I asked about getting ProRes as an option out of GoPro Studio which isn’t possible but I thought I would ask as that would be a great option.
