Profoto’s Softbox range gets XL size options

By popular demand, Profoto introduces three extra-large Profoto Softbox options—5’ Octa, 4×6’, and 1×6’—available in white and silver. 

Designed for commercial studios, rentals, and demanding productions, and the photographers who refuse to compromise, these new large size Profoto Softboxes set a new benchmark for large-scale light shaping – combining powerful light control with an exceptionally fast and intuitive setup. 

Built for heavy-duty professional use, according to Profoto, “the extra-large formats create a larger light source that delivers softer, even illumination across larger sets” featuring “durable materials, and reinforced, integrated speed ring ensure reliable performance when working with powerful flashes and high-output LED lights.” 

Despite their size, the new Profoto Softboxes are designed to fit seamlessly into fast-paced professional workflows. Profoto claims that “ntuitive construction allows the softboxes to be set up and taken down in seconds – dramatically reducing setup time on set, especially in rental, commercial, and high-pressure production environments where efficiency matters most.” 

A wide range of compatible accessories, including grids, diffusers, edge masks, and strip masks, provide precise control over light spread and contrast, giving photographers, videographers, cinematographers, and gaffers full creative freedom both in studio and on location.
