Matthews intro’s T-Go, a complete modular rigging system

Designed by veteran Key Grip TJ Beatty, the T-GO 5/8″ Kit is a complete modular rigging system built around the industry-standard 5/8″ diameter: the backbone of grip and camera rigging. 

Manufactured exclusively by Matthews Studio Equipment in Burbank, California, this kit delivers everything a rigging grip needs to construct custom, high-load camera rigs quickly and confidently in any production environment. Consisting of T-Go Ball Head and T-Go 5/8” Kits—both are designed to hold camera gear fast and tight in high action when dealing with maximum speeds, sudden directional changes, vibration, and extreme impact loads, which conspire against conventional grip solutions.

For shots from the hood of a stunt vehicle, the cab of a crashing car, the seat of a roller coaster, or an aircraft mounting point, rigging holding the camera must perform every time. Failure could mean lost footage, or worse, a safety incident on set. T-Go systems were developed over decades of hands-on production work by veteran Key Grip TJ Beatty, who understood firsthand that no adequate answer existed for the extreme-load scenarios he regularly encountered. “When you’re rigging on a process trailer at speed or mounting to an aircraft, you must know the camera isn’t going anywhere,” says Beatty. “I built T-Go because I needed it, and it didn’t exist.”  

The T-Go Ball Head Kit is, Matthews notes, “an exceptionally strong, elegantly designed, 3-in-1 camera mounting system purpose-built to handle serious loads while maintaining absolute control. Rather than jerry-rigging imperfect solutions, this modular system provides grips with a Ball Head Assembly, Jr Pin Bracket, and Grid Clamp set up—each enabling rapid, strong and reliable rigging configurations on a Combo Stand, 5/8″ rail, or other grip equipment.” 

The T-Go 5/8” Kit is built around the industry-standard 5/8” pin system. It provides grips with a complete set of crosses, swivel tees, corners, double barrels, and rods in six lengths—enabling rapid, reliable rigging on speed rail and grip equipment across any production scenario. To keep builds compact and versatile four included low-profile T-Go Corners each provide three pass-throughs to accept any length 5/8″ rods. The Double Barrel offers two parallel pass-throughs for clean inline configurations, while the T-Go Cross features orthogonally oriented pass-throughs for building out in multiple directions simultaneously. 

All components of the T-Go Ball Head and 5/8″ Kits are CNC-machined to ultra-tight tolerances and finished with a hard grey anodize for superior wear resistance and corrosion protection, integrating seamlessly with grip equipment found on every truck.
