The Twist 28 is the latest addition to the Twist range and builds on the same Petzval-derived optical design as the Twist 60. The principle is the same: a sharp centre subject surrounded by progressively swirling out-of-focus areas. At 28mm, the lens opens the effect to a significantly wider angle of view (90 degrees on full frame, 64 degrees on APS-C), making it suited for street photography, environmental portraits, landscapes and close-up creative work where context and surroundings play a larger role in the composition.
The new Lensbaby lens uses a 4-element, 3-group optical design with a fixed circular aperture of f/3.5. Broadband multi-coated anti-reflective coatings maintain contrast and colour fidelity across the frame. Focus is manual via a barrel-type ring, with a minimum focusing distance of 200 mm and a maximum reproduction ratio of 1:7. There are no filter threads.
