A big congratulations to Karl and Julianna of Cine Gear. They did a great job with Cine Gear 2013! And I know what it take to produce an event of this scale – it does take a village!
It was good to run into all the “family and friends.” Cine Gear always feels like a family picnic to me. Grab your shorts and sneakers, run down to Paramount and hang with the village.

Ran into Jeff Cronenweth, ASC — always one of my favorite DPs, not only due to his amazing work but also because he is so easy and casual to chat with. Had the honor of meeting Rob Sim — yes, the Sim behind Sim Video and Bling. And then, of course, two of my favorites, Doug Leighton of Panasonic (to my left) and Mike DesRoches of Sony (to my right). Not something you see every day — Panasonic and Sony together…
