Iodyne at Cine Gear 2026 - Understanding the 192TB NVMe Upgrade for Pro Data 1

Shared storage pioneer iodyne has built a formidable reputation by engineering ultra-fast, enterprise-secure NVMe arrays tailored explicitly for elite creative pipelines. At Cine Gear Expo 2026, the company showcased the latest evolution of its Pro Data platform desktop storage solution with a massive capacity expansion that pushes it to 192TB.

ProVideo Coalition stopped by the booth the RED booth to see firsthand how this portable powerhouse continues to blur the line between direct-attached speed and facility-grade collaboration.

Designed to serve as the ultimate bridge between field production and the post-production suite, Pro Data combines incredible all-NVMe performance with enterprise-class redundancy. Now scaling up to 192TB in a sleek, vertically oriented chassis, the platform delivers sustained throughput exceeding 5 GB/s. This immense bandwidth allows editors, colorists, DITs, and VFX artists to stream multiple streams of uncompressed 8K RAW footage simultaneously, completely eliminating the time-consuming necessity of proxy workflows.

What separates the Pro Data from traditional external storage is its unique, multi-user architecture. Equipped with eight independent Thunderbolt ports, the system allows up to four host computers to connect directly to the array at the same time. Rather than treating the unit as a single, isolated drive, creative teams can partition the NVMe pool into distinct containers for different users. This gives on-set DITs, sound mixers, and editors simultaneous, zero-latency access to the same master project files without the network latency or administrative clutter of traditional NAS systems.

Data protection is hardcoded into the Pro Data’s infrastructure. To survive the unpredictable rigors of location shooting, the system utilizes hardware-accelerated RAID-6 protection alongside enterprise-grade AES-XTS-256 encryption. Real-time cryptographic keys are securely tied to a hardware enclave, ensuring that assets remain protected even if a drive is misplaced during transit. Furthermore, continuous cloud-tethered health monitoring and user-serviceable NVMe slots mean rental houses and production companies can swap internal components on the fly without risking project downtime.

Beyond its headline-grabbing presence at Cine Gear, iodyne’s engineering is also anchoring the national Adobe Color Roadshow. Attendees at these live events can see the Pro Data working alongside the highly portable iodyne Pro Mini Smart Drive to anchor cutting-edge color pipelines. The roadshow highlights deep integration with Adobe Premiere Pro’s dedicated color grading workspace, demonstrating how iodyne’s sustained throughput handles intensive color grading matrices without a single dropped frame.

Additionally, Cine Gear attendees got a look at the iodyne Pro Mini, which have 4TB and 8TB usable capacity options. They provide as much storage capacity as the largest internal laptop SSDs, 4x the capacity of a high-end camera SSD cartridge, and 8x the capacity of the largest Pro phone SSD.
