FiLMiC Pro 5.0 adds 4K and 7 other category improvements to iPhone shooting

FiLMiC Pro 5.0 adds 4K and 7 other category improvements to iPhone shooting 1

As I have covered in prior articles, the main reasons to use FiLMiC Pro when shooting video with an iOS device (iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch) is to achieve control of parameters not traditionally included in the stock video recording app, including bit rate for lower compression, framerate, and proper 48 kHz audio. FiLMiC Pro has also offered reticle and other tools. Although it is backwards compatible with iOS 8, version 5.0 of FiLMiC Pro is now optimized for the new iOS 9, and adds 4K Ultra HD for the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus. This version is also the the first one to be made with Apple’s new Swift 2.0 App Framework. Ahead is the full list of improvements.

FiLMiC Pro currently costs under US$10 (or a similar amount in your local currency) in the iOS AppStore or in iTunes. I hope to cover some of these in more detail in upcoming articles.
