Making a Scene “Good Enough”

Actors’ performances, lack of time or issues on set; there is a good chance certain scenes you shoot just aren’t good. My editor and I joke about measuring success by getting to a point where we don’t hate the scene, or better yet, if we can tweak the scene enough to prevent the audience from stopping the movie. I’ll walk you through such a scene from the beginning to the end of the edit and talk you through all the real-world issues that force us into creative decisions.
