Transmedia - the Green House Effect 1Creativity is a strange thing. It's there one minute, and the next it might be gone. Or it might hang around for a while, like an old buddy, just kicking back and relaxing and being generally amiable company, until it remembers it needs to be somewhere in five minutes and is out the door in 20 seconds flat. It might elude you for a week, and it might refuse to go away, even in your sleep. All I know is, it's a more than welcome guest whenever I'm developing, designing or creating new stuff.

The second you lift an interesting piece of wood or a toy it hasn't seen before, the dog comes running at neck-breaking speed.

That's why I love analogies; new ways of thinking about intricate and complicated matters, ways that can coax that creativity out from under the stone it's hiding under, and back into the creative groove that you need to move onwards. This is one analogy I sometimes apply, that of the green house. Let me tell you why this, in my mind, works.
