It is easy to get caught up in the idea of greater efficiency when you hear vendors talk about things like “automating your workflow” and “storing everything in one place” and “50 years of photos at your fingertips”!
When you get to the point that you think your company will benefit from organizing materials into a central repository for employees and/or vendors to use, the next step is to understand that you are about to start a revolution in just about every aspect of how people work in your company.
While the benefits of a DAM might be crystal clear in your eyes, you need to recognize that you (or some dedicated soul) will have to spend a significant amount of time championing the benefits of such a culture shift, to give your DAM ideas a fighting chance of success in the eyes of the rank and file.
