Technological Cinevideo Services, Inc. (TCS), a top Manhattan-based rental, sales and service house now pairs all their RED packages with Element Technica gear. “Our RED kits are standardized around Element Technica accessories,” says TCS’s Chief Technology Officer Oliver Schietinger. “Our first introduction to their products was in the form of the Breakout Box and Viewfinder mount,” he explains. Recent additions are the V-Dock and Mantis.

The V-Dock is a safe, sure, neat and elegant precision mounting system that eliminates uncertain mounting with Velcro or gaffer’s tape. It combines a V-Lock and S-Clamp to facilitate the RED set up. The V-Dock is also an integral part of the Element Technica RED Drive Shock Mount system that expands the range of acceptable shooting conditions by eliminating dropped frames in many situations considered Compact Flash only.

Mantis, the industry’s most configurable and innovative shoulder-mounting solution for film and digital, has become a given for TCS clients. “When going handheld, the Mantis allows for a quick conversion from studio mode and can be adapted to any user’s preferences,” Schietinger explains.

The majority of TCS’s work is in the commercial production and independent feature area, where moving swiftly with appropriate equipment that is cost-efficient for the shoot is a must. That’s where Element Technica accessories are key. “Most TCS customers, like the engineers at ET, come from a film background and have the same high expectations on what a camera package should come with and how it should work. ET helps us meet their expectations.

“Element Technica’s user-friendly accessories make prep easier for both rental house technicians and end users,” he adds. “Packaging RED with Element Technica’s accessories, which are compatible with other manufacturers’ accessories, is a plus for us,” he adds. “Element Technica equipment is thoughtfully designed and reliably built.

“And, ET is usually the first with solutions to problems that would otherwise make the camera unusable. Accessories such as the Shockmount (ISO-Plate), Breakout Box and Viewfinder Bracket and more have helped many a tightly scheduled and challenging production go smoothly. That’s really important because our clients count on us at TCS to give them every advantage.”
