SeeFile Software release Seefile 4.7

SeeFile Software have announced the release of SeeFile 4.7, the web server software for sharing media files. Since 2003, SeeFile Software have developed and optimized a new approach to digital asset management and delivery solutions, offering an elegant web interface and easy to use DAM, accessible from any standard web browser. Back-end changes were SeeFile’s focus during the development of 4.7, making page loads and image processing faster, optimizing the layout and adding extra functionality.

SeeFile 4.7 includes the following new features:

This software solution monitors shared folders and volumes, tracking any changes in the file structure. When a change occurs, SeeFile will instantly update its database and web interface, by removing or adding files and folders. Also, when media files are added, SeeFile will automatically render previews and import EXIF, IPTC and XMP metadata.

Many of the Digital Asset Management systems currently available, force users to change their workflow, incurring extra costs such as training and creating an optimized database. SeeFile offers a complete solution, focusing on small and medium size companies. Installing SeeFile takes only minutes, and the solution works like an FTP server (allowing creation of users with home folders) that will work with nearly any workflow.

SeeFile 4.7 offers the standard tools available for digital asset management/delivery software, therefore an administrator can create data fields that can in turn be used to tag documents. All the fields, including the imported EXIF, IPTC and XMP metadata, are searchable. In response to greater expectations from a Web 2.0 application, collaboration features were added such as annotations on selected areas of images/PDFs and online approval.
