R.I.P. Nucleo Pro

Well, what else can I say. One of my favorite “tools” to use in After Effects has been discontinued. Gridiron Software has decided to put all its eggs in one basked with Flow, and send Nucleo packing.

Here is the official statement on their website:

GridIron Software has discontinued the Nucleo and Nucleo Pro product lines. We value our loyal customers who have embraced the Nucleo products for their After Effects needs, and we will continue to provide support through our comprehensive FAQs, and email support until April 30th, 2011.

Let’s see, that gives me all of 11 days to get support for this once magnificent product. I’m surprised that they would have just discontinued it, and not sold it off to another company. If you can still find it out there in a boxed or download form (maybe from Toolfarm), pick it up. I love the background render option. Otherwise, if you are a software engineer looking for a great idea for an After Effects plug-in, drop me a line!
