New version 5 of DVMP Pro with more unique features

We now have support for HDV1 (720 line HDV variant), and many standard definition MPEG-2 Program Stream based camcorders such as Sony HDD/DVD and MOD formats.

So now you can play AVCHD m2ts/mts, HDV m2t, DV AVI, Sony HDD/DVD and MOD files while displaying the embedded metadata (recording date/time, timecode, shutter speed, f-stop, white balance etc) with frame accuracy. You can also single-frame step forward or backward and examine the metadata changing frame by frame.

For GPS equipped AVCHD cameras, you can also watch the GPS coordinates change as you play the mts/m2ts file, and pop up a Google Map at any point in the clip (e.g. if you are filming from a moving vehicle). This also works if the camera is set to record in standard definition MPEG-2 mode.

Video clips in any of the above formats can be timestamped with the date and time that they were recorded, using a huge variety of languages and with flexible user-defined date/time format strings. You can also burn-in any of the metadata including the original exposure settings, GPS coordinates and a custom text string. The Batch Processor allows you to process many files and formats in the same operation. Timestamp and burn-in output can be WMV/VC-1, or AVI using any intra-frame compressor already present on your PC (or uncompressed).

DVMP Pro continues to provide its existing set of tools including a “Capture DV” module with “slave to camera feature”; DV AVI file splitter, converter and metadata editor; metadata and GPS data export to CSV and SRT (subtitle) files, etc.

The features are all summarised on the web site, with more detailed instructions too. There’s a also a limited downloadable demo.
