New Products on Display at the 2009 NAB Show: BTX Technologies, Inc.

SMPTE Hybrid Fiber Optic Camera Assemblies
These new HDTV camera assemblies from BTX are both SMPTE 311M and SMPTE 304M compliant. Manufactured with Mohawk CDT, or equivalent 311M cable, these hybrid assemblies contain two tight-buffered, single-mode optical fibers, two high-voltage contacts, and two signal contacts. The LEMO® connectors feature low insertion and return loss specs, a quick disconnect push-pull latching system, a solid stainless steel outer shell with a protective rubber boot, and end caps to withstand rugged and harsh environments. Breakout assemblies, camera and panel mount connectors, and testers are also available.

MaxBlox® CA-MX35M Cable Mount Connector
BTX solves the tedious task of soldering 3.5-mm stereo cable mount connectors with the latest addition to the MaxBlox® family of solderless connectors. The patent-pending CA-MX35M is a 3.5-mm stereo cable mount male connector that terminates with just a screwdriver and is ideal for use in applications where computer audio or IR control are used. The CA-MX35M consists of a 3.5-mm stereo plug with an attached screw terminal block, along with a 2-piece, snap-together hood. The rugged connector allows installers to terminate a 3.5-mm stereo cable mount plug without the use of a soldering iron, saving both time and money.

ProBlox® Connector System Adds A New Set of Coaxial Contacts
BTX will be showcasing its highly acclaimed ProBlox® system at the 2009 NAB Show. As a cost-effective solution to bundling numerous signals, the ProBlox system combines 16 coax and 26 audio/data/control contacts in one multi-connector. This allows fast and simple set-up and tear-down in broadcast and A/V applications, such as remote broadcasting, rental and rack staging, corporate settings, podiums, and more.

BTX is releasing the latest addition to the ProBlox system with the new CV-PBVCM2 (male) and CV-PBVCF2 (female) coaxial contacts. These custom coax contacts allow installers to use an approved mini hi-res cable with the ProBlox connector. The field-terminated system is custom configurable for numerous combinations of VGA, component, composite, balanced, and unbalanced audio, data, and control signals. Built of rugged and durable components, and offering 75-ohm video contacts for a true HD signal, the ProBlox system reduces the number of individual cables needed for less clutter and a clean finished look.

New Product Line – Dataprobe
BTX is pleased to announce the addition of Dataprobe to its roster. Effective immediately, BTX becomes Datapobe’s A/V distributor in the U.S. and will carry the iBoot Web-controlled power switch and the iBootBar remote power management system.

iBoot is a 10/100 Ethernet-network-attached, IP-addressed, Web-controlled power switch. Anyone with a Web browser can access iBoot to perform power on, off, or reboot (timed power shutdown). Dataprobe’s rack-mounted, network-controlled power strips allow remote power management to reboot, or power on or off any A/C device. The iBootBar system provides independent control of each outlet on the device from the Web, Telnet, and simple network management protocol (SNMP). iBootBar enables network access plus out-of-band control via serial port and internal modem with both data and DTMF tone dial control.

EXPAND-ON Sleeving Applicator
BTX showcases the EXPAND-ON for the first time at the 2009 NAB Show. The EXPAND-ON is a new patent-pending machine that eliminates the tedious process of applying expandable sleeving to a cable bundle. Designed to work with cable bundles of 50 feet, 100 feet, and much longer, and accommodating sleeving ranging from ½ inch to 1 ¾ inches, this new machine reduces the time it takes to apply expandable sleeving from hours to a few minutes, saving installers both time and money. Installers simply load the sleeving over the tube, push the wire bundle through the inside of the tube until it appears out of the other end, and then pull both the sleeving and wire bundle together to the desired length.

EXPAND-ON kits are available that include a base unit, an optional stand on which to mount the machine, and choice of tubes.
