New Back-up and Archiving Solution for North Plains’ Xinet Now Available

North Plains Systems, the leader in helping companies effectively connect with and engage their customers through visual media, and InPress Systems, specialists in server software solutions for the prepress industry, today announces the availability of OnFile for Xinet.  The OnFile module, developed by North Plains’ partner, InPress, is a new archival solution that offers North Plains customers the ability to store and retrieve archived digital assets directly from Xinet. This new product enables organizations to be more efficient and have better controlled processes for storing, retrieving, and monitoring their valuable assets.

“We are very pleased to work with InPress because they have extensive experience with the Xinet software, are very well respected in the Xinet community for the quality of their solutions, and understand our customers’ need to have an archival module that seamlessly integrates with Xinet. OnFile makes it easy for users to search for and access archived files directly from the Xinet environment without needlessly disrupting their work,” said Kevin Tureski, VP of Product Development at North Plains.

OnFile integrates with the newest version of Xinet, 17.6A, and the Archiware P5 Backup software to provide inline archive, back-up, and restore. This ensures that users can search for and browse archived digital files quickly and easily.  Xinet customers can utilize the Portal Basket to archive and restore, or drag and drop jobs into Hot Folders.  Xinet administrators also have tight control over the archived assets, with the ability to determine approval processes, quotas and restore methods by Xinet users and/or groups.  With OnFile’s expandable architecture, Xinet customers will have a flexible solution that will allow them to connect Xinet to other archive solutions and services in the near future.

“The goal of developing OnFile is to maintain the long-term viability of a customer’s digital assets without impacting current production.  In fast-paced production environments with thousands of projects being worked on by a wide variety of staff and outside contractors, the need for reliable access to completed work is critical.  OnFile gives users the peace-of-mind of knowing that their assets are safely archived but still accessible with a click of a button,” said Jörgen Fransson, Founder of InPress Systems.

The new archive solution for Xinet is available now from Authorized Xinet resellers worldwide with special promotional pricing currently in effect.  To locate a reseller please visit: http://www.northplains.com/partners/find-a-partner/
