Burbank, CA. Matthews Studio Equipment recently introduced a new series of opaque overheads that perform very well in rain or high humidity conditions. WATER SOLIDS or WET BLACKS are a great protection when the elements threaten to slow down or stop production.

Manufactured from high density opaque, polyester fabric with a PVC backing, these self-extinguishing fabrics will operate on all wet conditions without absorbing water and adding additional weight to overheads. And, because they do not absorb any water, they are dry almost instantly and can be folded and packed as the shot is wrapped.

WATER SOLIDS or WET BLACKS are available in all standard overhead sizes and can be custom sized to particular applications.

WATER SOLIDS or WET BLACKS are from MSE, the privately owned grip and lighting support company that was recently honored with the 2010 Presidential ā€œEā€ Award for outstanding contributions to growing U.S. exports, strengthening the economy and creating American jobs. MSE employs over 70 full-time workers at their Burbank, California facility. As of this month, MSE equipment is being used on entertainment productions in over 70 countries around the world. They recently filled a 53-foot tractor-trailer with Matthews grip equipment for a Los Angeles-based company and shipped three 40-foot containers with everything from MiniGrips to Super Crank-o-vators to Budapest, Hungary and will be packing off the MAX family to MosFilm, the largest and most prestigious production company in Russia.
