Don’t let the ”Gaming OLED panel“ fool you. As ProVideo Coalition mentioned before, these panels are for both gamers and professionals. In fact, the 39-inch panel now announced is presented as ideal for content creators such as video editors and cinematographers, because of its curved display, designed with a 21:9 aspect ratio and 1500R curvature to deliver the ultimate immersive viewing experience with ultra-high resolution (5120×2160) that surpasses UHD.

LG Display is currently the only manufacturer worldwide producing 39-inch OLED panels, and the world’s first 39-inch 5K2K Gaming OLED panel will  be unveiled during the Las Vegas show from January 6 to 9. LG Display is also presenting a 27-inch Gaming OLED panel that achieves a refresh rate of 720Hz — the fastest among all Gaming OLED panels currently available. Refresh rate refers to the number of times per second a screen updates, so 720Hz means the screen refreshes 720 times per second. LG Display is the first to achieve such an ultra-high refresh rate on an OLED panel.

According to the company, “this product also offers a response time of up to 0.02ms, which is over 150 times faster than the average response time of LCD panels. The combination of an ultra-high refresh rate and ultra-fast response time eliminates afterimages and motion blur completely, even during rapid on-screen transitions.”

LG Display will also show at CES 2026  the world’s first 27-inch 4K OLED panel for monitors featuring an RGB stripe structure and a 240Hz refresh rate. Although OLED panels using the RGB stripe method existed before, their maximum refresh rate reached around 60Hz, making them unsuitable for use as gaming monitors. The RGB stripe structure arranges the three primary color subpixels — red, green, and blue — in a straight line, significantly reducing visual distortions such as color bleeding and fringing, even at close viewing distances.

Despite being a Gaming OLED panel, the product is more than a solution for gamers. LG Display says that “this product’s high refresh rate not only delivers optimal performance in first-person shooter (FPS) games and other applications that require rapid screen transitions, but it is also optimized for operating systems such as Windows and for font-rendering engines, ensuring excellent text readability and high color accuracy. Featuring a high pixel density of 160 pixels per inch (ppi), this panel additionally provides exceptional detail and precision.”

With its plan to initially introduce the new pixel structure in its high-end gaming and professional monitor panels, LG Display will actively promote the technology at the upcoming CES 2026 as part of its strategy to expand its customer base and product lineup.

Existing high-end Gaming OLED monitor panels have primarily used RGWB structures, which include a white subpixel, or configurations where RGB pixels are arranged in a triangular pattern.

As LG Display developed its new pattern optimized for monitor use, it applied various new technologies — such as increasing the aperture ratio, which is the proportion of the pixel area that emits light. As a result, it achieved the world first of implementing both an RGB stripe structure and a high refresh rate simultaneously.

The company is actively targeting the high-end monitor market, mass-producing about 30% of the panels for the OLED monitor global market. LG Display will introduce at CES 2026 its new large-sized OLED technology, Primary RGB Tandem 2.0,  that was hinted in a previous video, which will be applied to all 2026 gaming monitors. LG Display also plans to apply its new Tandem WOLED technology, Primary RGB Tandem 2.0, to all Gaming OLED panels launching in 2026.

The company first unveiled its Primary RGB Tandem technology last year — the world’s first OLED stack structure in which each of the three primary colors of light (red, green, and blue) is formed as an independent emission layer. The newly upgraded Primary RGB Tandem 2.0 adopts an even more optimized pixel structure and advanced algorithms.

Through this innovation, LG Display’s Gaming OLED panels can achieve peak brightness of up to 1,500 nits, deliver perfect blacks with HDR True Black 500, and reproduce up to 99.5% of the DIC color gamut, offering true-to-life picture quality.
