Let’s Edit with Media Composer – ADVANCED – Motion Effects Part 2 2

In this lesson, Kevin P McAuliffe wraps up his look at Motion Effects by talking, first, about a common misconception that you can’t work with motion effects on mixed frame rates in your projects. That’s just not true. Then, he moves on to talk about what he teased in the last lesson, and that’s how to work with the Motion Effects Editor, to create variable speed motion effects, right in your Media Composer timeline.

The last two tutorials were put in motion by an editor who had dropped me an e-mail, asking about the very first topic we talk about in the tutorial, and that is that at first glance, it appears as though you can’t create motion effects with clips with frame rates differing that of your project, and that’s just not true.  It requires a little bit of forward thinking, but once you see how easy it is, it’s a technique that will fit smoothly into your workflow.  Then, we move onto one of my favorite topics, and that is creating variable speed motion effects in Media Composer, and if you know how to keyframe, you’re already 90% of the way there!
