I-Movix Launches SprintCam Basic – Entry-Level Ultra Slow-Motion Solution

I-Movix today announced the launch of the new SprintCam Basic, an entry-level broadcast-ready ultra slow-motion solution for television companies, R&D facilities, educational institutions, and industrial users. Delivering ultra-slow motion frame rates of 500 to 2,000 fps with instant replay in SD resolution, SprintCam Basic offers the I-Movix industry-leading technology in a cost-effective and easy to use package.

Like its high-end stablemates, SprintCam Live V2.1 and SprintCam V3 HD, SprintCam Basic far outstrips competing products to deliver high-quality imagery at up to 80 times slower than normal speed, allowing viewers an unprecedented insight into the detail and flow of the subject’s motion. SprintCam Basic is designed to be very easy for non-specialist operators to install and use, and can be purchased and operated out of the box as a complete system or with any SDI recorder.

“With SprintCam Basic we are bringing our exceptional ultra-slow motion technology to a new class of users who do not need the full broadcast integration of our SprintCam Live and SprintCam HD solutions, but who can benefit from the world’s leading slow-motion technology in a convenient form,” said Laurent Renard, CEO, I-Movix. “The technology is proven in the most testing conditions at some of the most prestigious global sporting and entertainment events and will be an outstanding addition to the facilities of any industrial user, educational institution, or broadcaster.”

The award-winning SprintCam system has been instrumental in providing some of the most arresting slow-motion footage from recent major broadcasting events including the Beijing Summer Games in 2008, at which SprintCam was the official ultra-slow motion solution. The new SprintCam Basic features an unmatched combination of very high framerates, instant replay, light-sensitivity, user-friendly interface, and out-of-the-box operation with no requirement for special training.

Together with the other products in I-Movix’s SprintCam range, SprintCam Basic will be available starting in September 2009 through I-Movix’s network of distributors.
