On Thursday, October 15, 2009, Band Pro and Media Distributors will open the doors of their Chelsea office from 10am to 5pm for a Production Acquisition & Workflow Solutions Open House. Band Pro will showcase Sony’s hottest CineAlta HD equipment including the top of the line production camera, the F35 (tape and tape-less), the versatile and feature-rich PDW-F800 XDCAM, and the little powerhouse, PMW-EX3 fully rigged for digital cinema production.
Band Pro’s team of experts will be on hand to discuss data-based recording with Silicon Imaging’s SI-2K camera that has gained universal acclaim for its performance on “Slumdog Millionaire.” Guests will be treated to hands-on demos and workflow options with the OB-1 flash recorder from S.two and the Codex Portable solid-state recorder. Plus visitors can peer through the latest high-quality glass including Carl Zeiss DigiPrimes and Compact Primes, Fujinon’s latest PL-mount zooms, and for the first time in the US, the new Cooke Panchro and 5/i lenses.
Media Distributors will preview Polaris RAID™, the industry’s affordable RAID storage solution, the Fusion Drive™, a hybrid recorder/asset management system, and the R-2 Archive Station™ with REDrocket card.
Band Pro’s Michael Bravin, associate member of the ASC, and Jeff Cree, SOC, will be on hand to answer all questions big and small about the present state of digital production, as well as industry trends and the future of high end acquisition. Renowned on-set achieve expert, Nathan Adams of Media Distributors, will showcase the latest in on location asset management.
