Canon Explorer of Light Peter Read Miller has been photographing athletes and the sporting life for more than 40 years. The seasoned image maker has covered eight Olympic Games, 37 Super Bowls, the Stanley Cup Finals, the Kentucky Derby, and more. He’s also shot portraits of such sports luminaries as Muhammad Ali, Joe Montana, Magic Johnson, John Elway, and Gabriella Reece. His images have been chosen for more than 100 covers of Sports Illustrated.

Join Peter Read Miller at the Canon Hollywood Professional Technology and Support Center for a candid and informative discussion about his life as a sports photographer. Peter will talk shop and also recount some of his favorite moments from his career.

Striking a balance between personal experiences and practical information, he will cover:

Peter has found the Canon EOS-1D X, paired with the new EF 200-400mm f/4L IS USM EXTENDER 1.4x Lens, to be especially useful in his work. After the lecture, attendees will have a chance to see and handle Peter’s preferred gear, including the latest Canon EOS camera bodies and lenses. This will be a lively and informative presentation for anyone interested in sports photography and/or the techniques and equipment of one of today’s leading sports photographers.
