Examining technology's impact on content management in media and entertainment 1

It’s no secret that technology has changed the way media & entertainment professionals operate across the board. Whether it’s big picture concepts like the walls between production and post coming down, or specific evolutions like the transition from SD to HD and now 4K, you don’t have to look long or hard to see the kind of impact technology has had on the industry.

That impact is realized in many different ways though, because you can’t change one aspect of the production environment without affecting other areas. Shooting in 4K can give creators all sorts of options, but it also means you’re going to be dealing with files that are 4x larger than they had been previously. Can the established workflow handle that amount of data? Is all of that footage going to be archived when the project is over? These are just a few of the questions that professionals of all sizes are dealing with on a daily basis.

Exploring how those questions are being answered at major Hollywood companies and studios is a pretty great way to come to an understanding around the best solutions, and you’re going to have the opportunity to do just that on October 7th. Crossroads Systems, Inc. has announced they’re going to be participating in the inaugural FUJIFILM Thought Leadership Series event, “Media and Entertainment: Technology’s Impact on Content Management,” taking place in Los Angeles, CA. The event is set to bring together representatives from some of the largest companies in Hollywood to discuss and talk through dilemmas faced by the media and entertainment industry when it comes to content management.

Discussing how these companies adapt to change, deal with large file formats and what challenges and opportunities they see on the horizon are just a few of the topics that are set to be explored during the event. These are topics and issues that media & entertainment professionals of all sizes are already or will soon be dealing with in one way or another. Knowing how the biggest names in the industry are approaching these issues can help alleviate or completely eliminate problems and ensure that technology changes will be embraced, rather than simply endured.
